Your Privacy

We would rather tell you what we collect than ask you to trust us. The honest answer is: very little. This page sets it out, section by section.

How the site is built

Falls View Resort Spa is made of static pages. When you open an article, your browser downloads a finished file; nothing is generated about you on the fly. There are no reader accounts, no comment boxes, no checkout and no database of visitors. We do not use analytics tools, advertising networks, social media widgets, tracking pixels or fingerprinting of any kind.

The banner answer

The first time you visit, a small notice asks whether you are happy to continue. Your answer is written to your browser's local storage so that the notice does not keep reappearing. It is a single setting held on your own device. It is not sent to us, it does not contain your name or any identifier, and it is not shared with anyone. You can remove it whenever you like by clearing this site's stored data in your browser. The Cookie Page explains this in more detail.

Server logs

A hosting provider stores our pages and sends them to your browser. Its servers keep brief technical records of incoming requests, which typically include the IP address, the time, the address of the page requested, the referring address and the browser's user agent. These records exist so that the service can run reliably and resist misuse. They are handled by the provider on our behalf, are not used to build profiles, are not combined with other information and are removed after a short retention period. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available, under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Email

If you write to team@fallsviewresortspa.com, we see your address and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to answer you, or to fix an article if you reported a problem. We will not add you to a list, sell or share your address, or use it for anything else. Once a conversation has run its course, we delete it. Please leave out health details you would not want stored in an inbox; we cannot give personal advice in any case.

The message form on our contact page does not send anything by itself. It simply opens your own email program with the text ready, and you decide whether to send it.

Your rights

If the GDPR applies to you, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing and to receive it in a portable form. In practice, the only personal data we could hold is an email you sent us. To use any of these rights, write to the address above and we will reply within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in the country where you live.

Children

This magazine is written for adults. Nothing here is aimed at children, and we do not seek their details.

Changes to this page

If the way the site works changes, for example if we ever added a feature that handles data differently, we will update this page first and change the date below.
