The Cookie Page

Cookie pages are usually long lists of third parties. Ours is short, because there are none. Here is everything a visit to this site leaves in your browser.

No tracking, no advertising

We do not place analytics cookies, advertising cookies, social media cookies or any other kind of tracker. No outside company follows your visit here, and we do not measure which articles you read or how long you stay.

The one stored item

When the notice appears at the edge of the screen, you can accept or decline. Either way, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. Strictly speaking this is not a cookie: it is never sent with requests to our server, and it stays on your device. It holds only your answer, so the notice knows not to ask again. It contains no name, email or identifier.

Changing your mind

To see the notice again, clear the stored data for this site. In most browsers you can do this from the padlock or site information icon next to the address bar, or in the privacy section of the settings. Private or incognito windows forget the setting automatically when you close them. Clearing it does no harm: the site works exactly the same whichever answer you give, or if you give none at all.

Fonts and files

The fonts, images and styles used to display these pages are delivered together with the site itself. Loading them does not set cookies or involve an advertising service.

Server records

Separately from your browser, the hosting provider keeps short technical logs of requests so the site can run safely. They do not rely on cookies. Our Your Privacy page describes what those logs contain and how long they are kept.

If this ever changes

Should we ever add anything that stores data in your browser beyond your notice answer, we would update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it. If you have a question in the meantime, you can reach us through Write to Us.
